Whew, thank goodness we got that out of the way. How uncomfortable, the word itself incites panic. How taboo. How private. How … wait, one third of the female population has experienced incontinence. So, why are we so devoted to avoiding conversation about a problem that isn’t that uncommon? Everyone urinates. Okay, maybe it is not a normal natural occurrence but still, it occurs.
Hmmm, perhaps it is the idea of leakage. I guess I can see why this isn’t really a topic that one would bring up at a dinner party, holiday gathering, or even during family game night. It is however something that deserves attention and somethings that may be able to be resolved. And that my friend is why we are going to discuss it today.
Like I said, incontinence!
If one leaks urine when laughing, coughing, sneezing, or exercising that is a warning sign that the pelvic floor muscles are weak. In other words, this is your body’s way of telling you it’s time to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles.
Why is it important to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles? These are the muscles that hold a woman’s vagina, uterus, and bladder in place. Losing this muscle tone can have negative effects on a woman’s health and lead to serious issues such as Pelvic Organ Prolapse. This is where the organs literally begin to protrude outside the body.
So what causes incontinence? A few examples are pregnancy, childbirth, high-impact activity, aging, or weight gain. I don’t know about you but I have experienced most all of these.
Great! Now, that we know what causes it, how do we fix it?
The first option is using pads. The problem with pads is that they don’t actually address the underlying problem, weak pelvic floor muscles. This is not something that will get better on its own. In fact, more often than not, it will actually get worse. It is estimated, per the National Institutes of Health, that the average woman that uses pads will spend $50,000 in her lifetime. Hmm, I can think of about 1,000 other ways I could spend $50,000 and once again, it doesn’t fix the problem.
The second option is Kegel exercises. I remember when I first got pregnant. I had heard horror stories about bladder leakage after childbirth and I wasn’t going to become a statistic. I was going to battle the beast and come out the victor without any form of leakage. My gynecologist told me the only way to fight bladder leakage was to perform Kegel exercises. The problem with this is, according to the National Institutes of Health, only 50% of women ever try Kegels and only 50% of that 50% actually do them correctly. An even bigger problem, it is difficult, at best, to even identify, isolate, and squeeze the appropriate muscles. There is no way to know if you are actually performing the exercises correctly and some women have pelvic muscle floors that are so weak that they are not capable for even doing them.
So, we’ve given you two bad options. Is the third time the charm?
Enter Apex. InControl Medical designed a Trans vaginal device that specializes in incontinence in order to strengthen pelvic floor muscle naturally and quickly. This is done by addressing the source of the problem, the pelvis. Apex inflates inside the vagina and places muscle stimulation contacts on the pelvic floor muscle walls. The inflation itself provides active resistance which builds real muscle and does so quickly. The stimulation of the Apex even makes week muscles contract so every woman is able to benefit. Apex guarantees that the correct muscles are targeted and exercised every time.
What’s the catch? Okay, I haven’t actually found one yet. In the comfort of your home, use Apex for ten minutes per day, 6 days per week until bladder leakage is gone. Yes, I said gone! Then, to keep the muscles toned, use Apex once a week. Pretty simple, right!
As an added bonus, using Apex allows us to do something good for the planet. One Apex is able to replace 10,000 pads; 10,000 pads that take 500 years to decompose. Wouldn’t you prefer a solution that results in strong healthy pelvic floor muscles instead of additional expense or the stress of wondering if you are exercising correctly? Me too.
Apex is cleared for sale over the counter directly to consumers. You are invited to take advantage of the most advanced product on the market that was designed to make and keep your pelvic floor strong and healthy.
